JOB TITLE:Marketing & Communications Intern (2 openings)

STATUS:Full-time

NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK:37.5

LOCATION(S):Schenectady

TIMEFRAME JOB AVAILABLE: Summer and Fall Options


RESPONSIBILITIES:

An internship with MVP’s Marketing & Communications department is a great way to gain exposure, experience, and a portfolio of work in a variety of marketing, communications, and advertising areas. During the internship, you will work side-by-side with many members of the Marketing & Communications team, supporting projects that deliver communications and messaging to our members, employer groups, online community, and more! There are two internship opportunities available – one that will run through the summer and a second that will run through Fall.


As an intern on our team, you’ll be helping with:

·Copywriting, proofreading, and production of member newsletters

·Gathering content, editing, and helping with the distribution of our bi-weekly Sales e-newsletter

·Marketing collateral updates; working through proofing, revisions, and design

·Fall Open Enrollment advertising and communications – proofreading, coordinating review, and working with legal on approvals; helping to collect and track data from campaigns

·Drafting content for our social media channels; working with key team members to maintain a social media schedule

·Help coordinate website updates

·PowerPoint Presentation review and updates

·Other copywriting, proofreading, and project support as needed

·Other duties as assigned


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education:Participation in a Bachelor’s degree program in a marketing and/or communications field is required.


Minimum Experience:Marketing and/or communications project and material development, design, and coordination experience is preferred.

Required Skills:

·Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·Proofreading and editing; keen attention to detail

·Excellent organizational skills

·Ability to work in a deadline driven environment

·Positive attitude, self-directed, and motivated

·Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT, Adobe PDF comment/editing skills


Additional Skills:

·Experience with social media channels and analytics (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)

·Familiarity with Constant Contact a plus

·Adequate knowledge of web design and web development; WordPress a plus

·Knowledge and experience in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop a plus
