Leader, Network Engineer

MVP Information Services business unit is seeking a highly motivated – detail-oriented candidate for the position of Leader, Enterprise Networking. This position will lead a team of network engineers and will have responsibility, implementation, maintenance and operations of the MVP network; including video, voice and data. The candidate will work with the network team members to ensure the availability, reliability and performance of the network to best serve the end users. The candidate should be an independent thinker with excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize multiple demands in an aggressive paced environment.
The role includes but is not limited to the following:
Supervise staff including interviewing, selection, on-boarding, development and training, performance management, coaching and corrective action.
Handle policy and employee issues in conjunction with Human Resources.
Lead staff in a manner which supports our IT goals and guiding principles.
Responsible for communicating organizational information through regular team meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate written and interpersonal communication.
Participate in all facets of requirements gathering, prioritization, development, testing and execution of requests.
Responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and management of enterprise network architecture, ensuring that the network resources of the enterprise meet strategic direction and intent of the enterprise.
Works closely with senior IT and business leaders to align IT activities with business objectives.
Build strong cross-organizational relationships; effectively influence staff across the IT organization and the broader enterprise to align the network technologies with the overall organization needs.
Liaise with vendors and service providers to identify and select the products or services that best support MVP’s network strategies.
Act as a leader and mentor including coaching and training.
Maintains roadmap to support business vision and direction.
Help identify, promote, and drive activities that will reduce technical debt.
Regularly communicate the status of team initiatives to IT leadership and business partners.
Manage temporary and consulting resources as assigned to meet project needs.
Support continuous process improvement and innovation.
Limited travel between MVP offices, including overnight travel.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
10+ years’ work experience in related health care business or similar IT position.
5+ years’ experience with Cisco enterprise networking technologies.
3+ years’ ofmanagement experience.
Experience with Network Security Technologies.
Demonstrate a solid multi-site Network Architecture and Engineering experience base.
Demonstrate strong data networking experience with Cisco infrastructure (OTV, EIGRP, HSRP, STP, vlans, FCoE, port security, NAC, and ACS).
Possess strong personnel management skills.
Experienced budget planning and preparation.
Possess strong planning skills with the ability to effectively prioritize of tasks, projects, etc. in a dynamic environment.
Possess strong analytical skills with detailed knowledge of network and security software and tools.
General working knowledge with storage technologies (NAS, SAN, and direct attached storage).
Keen attention to detail.
Strong customer service orientation.
Interpersonal skills (e.g., partnering, conflict management, mentoring), with strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact with most levels of business, technical and end users.
Team oriented: Comfortable working in a team environment as well as independently and possess a sense of accountability and urgency in completing assignments.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, healthcare, or financial and billing processes is a plus.
