Shifts/Availability: Monday - Friday 7 am to 3:30 pm
Starting 6/22/2020 to 8/7/2020

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.
The Brandywine YMCA is looking for a Power Scholars Coordinator to provide pre-service professional development and ongoing coaching to the Instructional Coach, Academic Teachers and Assistant Group Supervisors in the Power Scholars program and the day to day operations of the site. They are responsible for overseeing the education quality of the program, the implementation of all areas of the power scholars program and ensuring the best learning environment for the scholars.
Participate in the summer program planning process prior to the start of the program.
Hire and supervise staff.
Complete all required trainings.
Manage the day to day logistics of the site including program, meals and staff support.
Assist with planning of parent events, enrichment activities and enrollment.
Ensure all curriculum and supplies are received and on site prior to the start of the program.
Deliver onsite training along with the instructional specialist to site staff in preparation for the launch.
Plan and oversee the implementation of the afternoon enrichment programs and Friday field trips.
Adapt and facilitate professional development/training for instructional staff on program philosophy, standards, expectations, procedures, curriculum and assessment methods, using data to inform instruction, and behavior management.
Ensure the environment supports the success of each scholar.
Ensure uniformity and timeliness of assessments and family reporting.
Comply with all program and YMCA professional development requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred
Strong leadership skills with 5 years experience managing different levels of staff, 7 preferred
Ability to build effective working relationships with parents, staff and scholars.
Experience working in urban communities and managing out of school time program or other community based youth programs.
