Planned Giving Support Services Coordinator
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for an Planned Giving Support Services Coordinator for the Southern Territory Headquarters, located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Assists the Territorial Director and Manager for Trusts & Estates with all business, interactions and meeting preparations related to the responsibilities of the Planned Giving Section. Assists the Territorial Planned Giving Director with the presentation materials and program overviews for the bi-annual meeting of the Territorial Development Council. Assists the Territorial Planned Giving Director in the planning and implementation of the Planned Giving portion of the Starting Point Orientation and various training and mentoring sessions provided to the Territory. Assists the Territorial Planned Giving Director by providing information and resources to the field; Works closely with the Planned Gifts Coordinator and the Office of Investments to process requests for gifts ; performs secretarial and clerical support work involved in the production and circulation of monthly and quarterly narrative and production reports; Assists the Territorial Planned Giving Director and senior staff of the Community Relations and Development Department in planning and coordinating all details associated with the Annual Resource Development Conference and the Territorial Community Relations and Development Conference. Coordinates support responsibilities for Gift Administration, Promotions and section support; processes documents for Gift Administration including termination of gift annuities; prepares and maintains donor service records; reviews and records completed gift agreement reports into the designated database; files various section correspondence and materials; serves as first point of contact for the Planned Giving Section and provides general information regarding section projects to internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Knowledge of effective and efficient record keeping practices and procedures. Knowledge of the English language including proper grammar and punctuation. Knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to perform routine computations. Ability to learn and become proficient in specific computer software utilized by the department. Ability to maintain an efficient and organized filing system to ensure that items can be retrieved in a timely manner. Ability to maintain the confidential nature of the department. Ability to follow instructions, plan and organize work, and work under limited supervision. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Ability to type. Ability to keypunch information into a computer. Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College/University AND Three years’ experience performing support work and experience with event planning, project coordination and experience in CRM is helpful. Microsoft Office Applications with proficiency in typing; preferably in a legal office environment and/or paralegal experience. Access database skills preferred.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is performed in a normal office environment or file room where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
