POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform a wide variety of functions to ensure the safety, security and well-being of the shelter residents as well as the building.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or G.E.D.AND one year experience performing security and/or social service work preferred,OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

None.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of alcoholism and substance abuse. Knowledge of the 12-step process. Skill in understanding of group reactions.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to deal with people maturely and professionally. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to lift light objects weighing less than 24 pounds. Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
