Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the anonymous testing program, and the Syringe Exchange Program. Also responsible for submitting reports as required by funders and other entities.

 Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures that service statistics and reports are accurate, and are compiled and submitted in a timely manner to all funding sources.

  • Fields inquiries, schedules appointments as needed.

  • Ensures sufficient staffing. Supervises HIV Prevention and SEP teams. Hires and onboards staff as appropriate.

  • Participates in program development activities.

  • Represents agency in appropriate community forums.

  • In conjunction with HIV Testing, supervises Syphilis Elimination Project for County Board of Health.

  • Collects statistics on syphilis testing clinic wide and reports statistics for this program to the County.

  • Also responsible for Hepatitis C Testing integration program.

  • Ensures that Hepatitis screening is offered with HIV test.

  • Reports Statistics to State department of Health.

  • Provides HIV testing and counseling.

  • Provides day-to-day supervision of staff and the program.

  • Assists in proposal writing, data collection, inventory, and supplies.

  • Ensures that program consistently complies with goals and objectives of each grant. Ensures that goals / projected numbers are met within allotted period.

  • Complies with all meetings and site visits from grantor.

  • Recruits, orients, trains, evaluate, and recognize volunteer HIV Testing Counselors who staff this service.

  • Organizes and conducts training sessions for HIV Intervention Specialist.

  • Works closely with Volunteer Coordinator in Recruitment of appropriate individuals for this position, as well as for Syringe Exchange Program Volunteers.

  • Attends departmental and Circle Health all-staff meetings.

  • Contributes to departmental and organizational decision-making through active participation in the process.

  • Works effectively and positively with co-workers, volunteers, and other departments.

 Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Service or related field, Registered Nurse Preferred.

  • HIV knowledge-base and test counseling experience.

  • 1 year of supervisory experience required.

  • Teaching and/or training experience preferred.

  • Experience working as a volunteer or with volunteers preferred.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. It requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Travel and work outside of normal hours may be required for meetings, presentations, trainings and other events.
