Accountant - Integrated Health Centers
The Accountant works very closely with the Director of Finance and other operations personnel to monitor and report on the fiscal operations of the Integrated Health Centers
Bachelor Degree in accounting
Experience working in a federally qualified health center strongly preferred
Knowledge of and adherence to GAAP
Essential Job Duties &Responsibilities
Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Provide necessary data to the Finance Department to support the month end closing process.
Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
Develop budgets that align with grant proposals as well as monitor expenditures related to grants. This includes all reporting needs throughout the life of the grant and the final close out reporting needs.
Insure timely completion of all quarterly and annual HRSA related reporting requirements as it relates to finance.
Stay current with any changes as it relates to HRSA (i.e. electronic handbook; compliance manual)
Consistently display outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and keep deadlines
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and structure analysis for complex business issues
Demonstrate the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment
Must be proficient in the use of computer spreadsheet applications, accounting software, applications, word processing and email
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, changing environment; manage multiple demands and work well under pressure
Must be able to work independently
Physical Demands/Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. It requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Travel and work outside of normal hours may be required for meetings, presentations, trainings and other events.
