This position will assist GL Accounting in providing support for draw/refund, tracking and reconciliations of Federal monies through various reports and systems from G5 to general ledger. This position will also ensure that all drawn/refunded Federal monies are within Federal compliance guidelines. Responsibilities also include goal setting and measurement, reporting, policy documentation and analysis for decision support. This position will perform Financial Aid General Ledger duties. Incumbent must assure that the South University philosophy: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion - is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.
KEY JOB ELEMENTS:
Ensure the drawdown of all Financial Aid monies through the G5 system and make general journal entries into student information systems.
Arrange Treasury transfers to move funds into proper accounts.
Monitor and report on the monthly Financial Aid FAGL reconciliations.
Prepare Monthly bank reconciliations and upload into Blackline.
Provide audit support where applicable (supply necessary documentation when asked for relating to internal and external audits).
Assure centralized processes are documented, policies and checklists maintained; adequate internal controls exist.
Analyze Servicer (Campus Partners and Unisa) reports monthly to determine Perkins collections and verify amounts deposited have been posted correctly to your assigned schools.
Track cash match and 25% of funds being draw for Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants (SEOG) using FWS.
Special projects as assigned.
Minimum of one year equivalent work experience
Experience with CARS and/or CampusVue computer system a plus
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong computer skills. MS Office Suite.
