Senior Maintenance Equipment Technician

Position Summary:
As a metrology equipment maintenance technician at SkyWater Technology Foundry, you will be responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance proficiently on a variety of semiconductor defect inspection and metrology tools.

  • Perform electrical and /or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems with non-functioning electromechanical equipment.
  • Dismantle, adjust, repair and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating and repair manuals.
  • Use test and diagnostic equipment to identify root cause problems and put corrective actions in place.
  • Rebuild equipment and sub-assemblies as required.
  • Perform equipment modifications as directed by engineers.
  • Perform preventive and unscheduled maintenance duties on production equipment.
  • Take ownership of small projects and equipment assembly tasks
  • Complete and maintain required documentation for quality standards.
  • Work with outside vendors as required, specifically KLA-Tencor
  • Process chemical and gas handling
  • Maintain critical spares and consumables inventory.
Required Qualifications:
•    2 Year Technical/Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent military training / work experience.
•    2-5 years of prior technician experience on any of the following defect inspection / metrology tools: KLA-Tencor Aset, KLA-Tencor SP1, KLA-Tencor AIT, Thermawave 5200 and Optiprobe 2600, Surfscan, TXRF, FTIR, RESMAP, QUANTOX, FEI & HITACHI SEMs
•    Minimum of 7 years of experience in high tech semiconductor or equivalent technology equipment management activity
•    Demonstrated expertise in performing electro\mechanical\fluidic circuit troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and equipment modification. A strong understanding and working knowledge of the following equipment is also needed: pneumatic/hydraulic pump systems, multi axis servo systems, vision components, chillers & cooling systems.
•    Competent with Windows OS interfaces, MS office suite and other SW programs such as sub-component interface to set-up amplifiers, power supplies, PLC code updates, etc.
•    Previous experience in a wafer fabrication and/or micro assembly environment is preferred, along with the ability to provide equipment and process engineering support
•    Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness
•    Ability to define, initiate, manage, and execute on projects to improve tool function and metrics. The ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, prioritize tasks, and plan for maintenance is essential
•    Use hand tools including wrenches, calipers, voltage/current meters, oscilloscopes and other various equipment technology specific tooling
•    Familiarity with Robotic / Automated handling systems & vacuum systems is a plus.
•    Fluency in English Language – written & verbal
