Key Job Responsibilities:
Conceptualize, plan, develop and implement employee, customer and community engagement, communications and outreach to support RWA business and communications goals.
Lead the development and execution of a wide range of employee communications activities and tactics, including organizational newsletters and announcements, intranet content, town halls, internal presentations and talking points.
Plan, write and implement consumer bill newsletters, special bill inserts, fact sheets, fliers and other informational publications and corresponding digital format.
Identify, execute and manage meaningful relationships with community partners, educational institutions and nonprofits whose mission aligns with the RWA’s business and environmental priorities.
Represent the RWA at community events and initiate emergency notifications to constituents as needed, on a 24/7 basis.
Key Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with major coursework in public relations, journalism, English, communications, marketing, public administration or a closely related field.
Minimum of 5 to 7 years of increasingly responsible experience in the field of public information, including experience with news outlets, event coordination and community outreach; experience must also include website management and management of social media for business purposes.
Excellent communications skills, including writing, proofreading and editing skills using AP Style.
Strong creative skills, including visual communications and knowledge of desktop publishing, content management and audio-visual techniques.
Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, is required, as dictated by community engagement activities.
Capacity to handle the job on a 24/7 basis for media relations.
