About The Position:

Lead the site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance services on all operation equipment and building systems.  Responsible for planning, scheduling and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out.  Increase the site operation effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction.  Implement and manage continuous improvement projects, training, working practices and processes.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, implement and manage key metrics for each area of responsibility.

  • Maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs on all machinery, equipment, building, and grounds, with documentation and records necessary to support the program.

  • Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results.

  • Manage processes, procedures and systems to improve operational efficiencies in coating and converting operations.                

Department Functions:

  • Drive innovation and new technologies that will have a major impact to the plant, division and business

  • Prepares department budget, monitors and develop clear accountability for spending.

  • Coordinate and manage schedules for all maintenance personnel.

  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve maintenance issues, develop equipment improvements and schedule maintenance down time.

  • Review various reports and coordinates with the Production Manager to review problems and to ensure corrective and preventative actions are taken.

  • Responsible for performing and guiding technical activities resulting from approved and self-initiated or assigned plant engineering activities

  • Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.

  • Establish priorities to minimize downtime and increase productivity.

  • Coordinates maintenance department inventory to ensure an adequate supply of parts and materials are in stock to reduce production downtime due to equipment

  • Actively intervene to correct recognized unsafe actions and conditions.

  • Make preliminary, intermediate and final inspection of maintenance and construction work to insure proper workmanship, materials and conformance to work standards and safety regulations.

  • Identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent recurrence.

  • Ensure all state, federal environmental standards/procedures are followed and maintenance materials/chemicals are the proper utilized, storage and disposed of.

  • Improve upon their current skills through regular participation in plant and organizational activities.

  • Provide oversight and department direction to the maintenance staff.

  • Good oral and communication skills

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Engineering/Technical/Management Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience 

  • Minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience

  • Supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering or Science Degree from an accredited university

  • Five (5)+ years of experience working within a manufacturing setting

  • Five (5)+ years of experience in a leadership role such as project management, supervisor and/or team lead

Work Experience / Skills: 

  • Five (5) years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment – Plastics converting and coating film experience desired.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical communication skills.

  • Experience in Lean Environment preferred.

Other Skills:

Must be proficient in basic computer systems (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Experience with work order or maintenance systems (eMaint), SAP experience desired and must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
