DAY PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR
Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. Assist with complete care of dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming, and dressing needs, including assisting with restroom and changing of diapers. Redirect behaviors with various activities
including, walking, reading, games, math, and computer projects.
Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients’ (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan
Assist clients with bathroom needs
Change clients’ diapers and/or clothing if needed
Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up
Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary). Facilitate their departure and arrival for
work or daily outdoor community integration activities in various weather conditions
Participate in client assessment, planning, and evaluation processes
Input all client notes into computer program
Review IPP goals and update Supervisors when necessary
Strap and secure wheelchairs inside Company van
Attend regular staff meetings and participate in continuing education and trainings
Support clients with daily living and vocational activities
Work at other Day Programs as needed
Performs other related duties and assignments as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience: 1 year experience preferred supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
