Summary:
   
This position reports to the Human Resources Manager and is responsible for supporting the Human Resources department with a variety of departmental tasks, mostly focusing on the hiring and training of new seasonal team members. The Human Resources team supports both Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park and the Cartoon Network Hotel.  The timeframe for this position is usually a Spring internship (March-May), however due to the 2020 pandemic, timeframe will be closer to a Summer internship (late May - August).

   
   

Job Functions:

 

* Greet and interact with applicants and team members (in person, on phone, and through email)

* Assist applicants with completing their application in the online Career Center

* Schedule, record, and participate in seasonal team member interviews and orientations

* Assisting in correct completion of employment forms in accordance to company policy and federal/state regulations

* Collect and submit team member information for background checks

* Enter and update data in the HRIS and progress monitoring reports

* Ensure team member file integrity and completion throughout the hiring process 

* Distribute uniforms and ID cards

* Assisting with new hire orientation preparation and follow up; possibly involvement in teaching material

* Other duties as assigned

   
   

Basic Qualifications: 
   

* Must be 18 years of age or older

* Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English

* Must have reliable transportation 

* Current enrollment in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in human resource management, organizational/industrial psychology, business, business administration, or related program

   

   

Preferred Qualifications:

   

* Interest in the Human Resources field

* Excellent customer service skills, including problem solving

* Possess a high degree of initiative, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality 

* Comfortable with public speaking and teaching/instructing in small and large groups

* Knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) 

   

   

Working Conditions:

   

* Schedule will be approximately 16-20 hours per week (with more available if candidate desires), potential start in late May 2020

* Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

* Must be able to work indoors in an office setting, as well as occasionally outdoors in a variety of weather conditions 

* Physical requirements include the ability to sit, walk, speak, hear, lift up to 20 lbs., and use common office equipment such as computers, printers, photocopiers, and phones
