National Counseling Group (NCG) is the premier provider of community-based behavioral health services in Virginia, with over 20 offices across the Commonwealth. We specialize in home-based counseling, crisis stabilization, mental health skill-building, school-based treatment and outpatient counseling.

 

We are seeking a full-time licensed or licensed eligible Outpatient Therapist in the Danville, VA area to provide assessments and treatment to children, adolescents, and adults with identified mental health or substance abuse diagnoses. Therapists must be willing to consult with other mental health professionals in order to provide effective courses of treatment so that we may improve our patients’ quality of life. Our agency provides credentialing, billing, intake support and year-round trainings, which some meet the CEU requirements.  Special attributes must include; strong writing skills and above and beyond customer service.  Paneled with insurance companies preferred.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages a small caseload of client families, providing services on an intensive basis and utilizing short-term, solution focused treatment strategies

  • Prepares written diagnostic assessments, assessing clients from multiple perspectives, including family functioning, psychological/emotional, social, academic, medical, behavioral, substance abuse, skills, strengths, barriers to economic self-sufficiency, treatment history, and others, and utilizing various assessment instruments

  • Facilitates wraparound team meetings to enlist existing supports in determining and meeting service objectives and to identify additional resources and supports

  • Prepares written service plan, incorporating input from clients, involved service providers, and wraparound team members, and clearly identifying problem areas and needs, strategies, and service objectives

  • Responds to crisis situations with twenty-four hour a day availability

  • Attends court hearings when families are court-involved and presents testimony and treatment recommendations as requested by attorneys, referral source, the court, or clients

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  Licensed or licensed eligible in Virginia
