National Counseling Group is seeking a Full-time Clinical Assessment Specialist in the Christiansburg, VA area. 

Responsibilities:

    • Conduct Comprehensive Needs Assessments (CNA)

      • Meet face to face with the identified client and guardian (if the client is a minor) to gather relevant clinical information

      • Complete intake forms (including appropriate releases)

      • Write the narrative of the CNA, as outlined in the EHR form

      • Populate the client’s profile in the EHR (including diagnoses, medications, allergies, etc.)

      • Connect with associated professionals who are/have been involved with the assessed client

      • Recommend service(s) based on the CNA

    • Conduct the service authorization process

      • Complete the Service Authorization Form in the EHR

      • Submit the form to the appropriate MCO (via efax or MCO portals)

      • Interact with the MCO Care Coordinator (if necessarily) regarding addition information requests or service justification

      • Notify local leadership and the NCG authorization specialist about the disposition of the service request.

    • Complete Annual Re-assessments

    • Complete Independent Assessment, Certification, and Coordination Teams (IACCTs)

    • Provide at least the equivalent of 8 CNAs/IACCTs per week (annual re-assessments or IACCT follow-ups count as half credit)

    • Provide Licensed Outpatient services to individuals receiving IIH, TDT, and other services as needed.


Applicants should possess good clinical documentation skills, experience working with and assessing mental health illnesses, and the ability to work within a fast-paced behavioral health crisis environment.


Education:

-Master’s Degree in the human services field from an accredited college or university

-Must be Licensed Eligible or Licensed
