Senior Economist or Economist: Health Care Specialization

NCCI is looking to hire at the Senior Economist or Economist level (one vacancy) with Health Care Economics experience.  The position will be based in our Corporate Office in Boca Raton, Florida. Candidates must be willing to relocate within daily commuting distance. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS POSITION:

As part of NCCI’s Economics team, you will conduct thought-leading empirical research relating to workers compensation insurance, encompassing diverse specializations such as labor economics, financial economics, and the economics of health care.  NCCI manages the largest collection of workers compensation data in the United States. The Economics team conducts innovative research using NCCI’s proprietary database of medical claims.

WHAT YOU MUST BRING TO THE ROLE:

Senior Economist qualifications include a PhD in Economics and significant
post-doctorate research experience relating to health care economics, including
managing major projects.  Candidates should have expertise in both
theoretical and applied econometrics. This position requires excellent
analytic, technical writing, and presentation skills. Candidates should have
multiple  research publications, including professional and peer-reviewed
journals; and also multiple articles or presentations expositing technical
analyses to general audiences. Professional research experience outside of
academia is a plus, for example in the insurance or health care industries,
government, or consulting. Coding expertise in Excel, R, and Stata will be
considered favorably.

Economist qualifications include either a PhD in Economics and post-doctorate research experience or MA in Economics and significant post-graduate research experience relating to
health care economics.  Candidates should have comprehensive knowledge of
applied econometrics. This position requires excellent analytic, technical
writing, and presentation skills. Candidates should have one or more research
publications, including professional and peer-reviewed journals; and also one
or more articles or presentations expositing technical analyses to general audiences.
Professional research experience outside of academia is a plus, for example in
the insurance or health care industries, government, or consulting. Coding
expertise in Excel, R, and Stata will be considered favorably.
