Food and Beverage Mgr.
The Pier 5 Hotel is actively seeking to the fill the position of Food and Beverage Manager.
Pier 5 is a Hilton Curio and part of Harbor Magic Hotels, a collection of 3 boutique hotels in the Inner Harbor and Fell’s Point areas of Baltimore. We cater to a perfect blend of corporate, social and transient guests. High expectations are set by our Guests and by our Owners, and we are looking for a Food and Beverage Manager who will help us to achieve the next level.
The right candidate has strong initiative, a desire for personal achievement and growth, and a balance of willingness and ability to lead a successful department. This individual is a team player focused on achieving customer satisfaction, associate satisfaction, and quality service while meeting expected and agreed upon financial results. While planning and reporting are amongst the managerial aspects of this position, it is an active hands-on role based around the banquets schedule and not a “nine to five” desk job. A “can-do” attitude is a must. Knowledge of basic audiovisual equipment (sound systems, poly-com, projector and screen) is a plus as managing AV is a part of the position.
The Food and Beverage Manager must:
visualize events, breakfast service and daily happy hour receptions through the guest’s eyes
elevate the catering and breakfast experience to a level that surpasses guest expectation
be fully dedicated to the company culture and train all associates appropriately
hold the entire team accountable for appearance, productivity, service and standards
take ownership of Banquets and Event space to ensure that anything within is of utmost quality
participate in weekly BEO meetings and guest hand-off meetings with the Sales Department
work within budget and forecast and monitor spending and labor costs accordingly
effectively maintain appropriate food and beverage cost and related inventories
ensure the department is compliant with the health, sanitation and liquor board standards
complete event-related, weekly and monthly reporting within the required timeframe
