E-COMMERCE DIRECTOR

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

At Magnolia, the E-Commerce Director develops the vision and strategy for Magnolia’s direct to consumer business. This position creates and builds the brand experience with cross functional teams to execute brand strategy and achieve financial goals by increasing Magnolia’s understanding of the core customer. This position works from headquarters in Waco, Texas.  

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP 

This position reports to the Chief Commerce Officer. 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This position has supervisory responsibilities. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uphold Magnolia’s mission, vision, and values
  • Develop the vision and strategy for Magnolia’s direct to consumer business
  • Lead and develop a team to ensure vision and strategy are executed
  • Create and build the online brand experience with cross functional teams to execute overall brand strategy and achieve financial goals
  • Oversee full P & L responsibility of magnolia.com e-commerce 
  • Develop website navigation strategy to achieve sales and conversion goals that leverage key seasonal big ideas, new products and marketing messages
  • Drive strategic change by identifying potential business opportunities relating to e-commerce
  • Partner with brand marketing and social media teams to identify, develop and execute initiative to drive brand awareness, acquisition and positive customer sentiment
  • Identify, develop and implement sustainable growth opportunities
  • Provide daily site maintenance and work with all pertinent parties to establish site stability, ensure site and content changes are accurately executed
  • Partner with IT to ensure optimal site performance, develop new initiatives and drive online excellence
  • Execute weekly site content strategies ensuring site stability to drive department and category level conversion
  • Oversee execution of all seasonal launches and special online promotions
  • Manage responsibility for site operations, long and short-term strategy, planning and implementation
  • Create, track, and report KPIs that measure success of e-commerce business
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly e-commerce reporting to leadership
  • Increase Magnolia’s understanding of the core customer and how to gain new customers through continued analysis
  • Coordinate with all teams to develop evergreen and seasonal marketing programs executable on the site
  • Serve as the merchant to the e-commerce business, working closely with cross functional teams to ensure the seasonal assortment aligns with the overall brand strategies
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, Master’s degree preferred
  • 7-10+ years in eCommerce with a track record of growth and innovation
  • Strong management skills and experience leading large teams
  • Excellent communication skills
