Segra is seeking to continue its impressive growth trajectory through the evolution and expansion of its world-class product portfolio. To improve its ability to deliver results, the company is looking for expert technical leaders to support sales engineers and the sales force on these highly complex products. These skilled individuals will drive product growth and product attachment rates to ensure customers are receiving the best solutions, tailored to meet their specific needs.

The Sales Engineer is a strategic technical consultant familiar with all technical aspects and application considerations for their assigned products or services (Cloud). The SE is responsible for supporting the planning, design and implementation of Segra solutions on large and complicated opportunities. SE’s are consummate team players who evangelize product capabilities internally, with the customer base, and with prospective customers. They are an integral part of both the sales and engineering organizations, and are responsible for ensuring sales engineers and sales teams are knowledgeable about the SE’s assigned products, and understand how to discuss them in each step of the pre-sales and sales process. To achieve this high level of product familiarity, SMEs have two primary responsibilities: 1) Sales enablement and 2) Product training.


Duties & Responsibilities


Selling enablement:

·          Assist sales engineers throughout the selling process on large and complicated sales by preparing technical sales presentations, attending customer appointments, and writing technical architecture playbooks and business plans

·          Act as a regional point of contact to provide product support to the engineering and sales organizations in the sales process

·         Address escalated technical questions or issues from sales engineers, the sales force, and customers and drive them to resolution

·          Post implementation support related to relationship building, customer’s technical strategy and additional revenue opportunities

·          Act internally as the voice of the customer and work effectively with internal
  teams, including sales, finance, product management, customer support and
  engineering, to increase customer success

·          Coordinate with Product Managers and the Marketing and Operations departments to plan and support new product initiatives and inform the product roadmap

·          Attend relevant market, industry, or technology organizations / associations,
  marketing events, and trade shows to assist in communicating product capabilities and build demand for assigned product group

Product training:

·         Act as the technical and functional expert for assigned products, able to fully understand and communicate product value to customers and sales engineers

·         Evangelize the product internally, encouraging greater familiarity with the product and willingness to incorporate the product offering into design solutions

·         Develop training programs and content for new and existing products in the assigned product group, including additional development of the Segra playbook

·         Train sales engineers and sales teams on product-related sales requirements, including communicating the product’s value proposition and competitive positioning, how to demo the product, how to incorporate the product into solution designs, and how to provide technical support for the products

·         Mentor sales engineers and senior sales engineers of all tenure levels in technical and professional skillsets

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field

    • 7+ years of Sales Engineer or similar telecommunications or information technology experience

    • Proven ability to work across organizations to accelerate product development and product adoption

    • Must have intermediate level understanding of business strategy development and financial business plan models

    • Expertise in network transport delivery and network design with a results-focused, flexible, proactive, and detail-orientated mindset

    • Expertise in assigned product category and designing integrated technical solutions that combine assigned product group with other Segra products (Internet, MPLS, Ethernet, SD-WAN, cloud services (IaaS, DRaaS, BaaS), hosted firewall, hosted voice, SIP trunking, and PRI)

    • Firm understanding of how technology can be applied to accelerate customer business objectives

    • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of employees, including senior management, technical staff, customers, and vendors

    • Excellent trainer with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; capable of teaching complicated material to many different learning styles (formal and informal presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences)
