Segra is seeking an experienced Strategic Account Executive.  The successful Strategic Account Executive will possess exemplary professional skills; always considering the best outcome for both the Company and the Customer in each situation.  The Account Executive will primarily be responsible for quota driven, new revenue generation, with secondary focus on existing base management for the company.  This will be through the successful selling of products including, but not limited to, Fiber access and transport, voice, local, long distance, MPLS, private line, broadband, high speed internet, VoIP, video, network management, managed network services, security solutions (i.e. firewall, SEIM, etc.), and cloud solutions (i.e. DRaaS, BaaS, IaaS, etc.)

The Strategic Account Executive will primarily focus on ‘new logo’ large enterprise accounts that have a ‘full potential’ wallet of approximately ~>$10k MRC.  In addition, they will secondarily focus on larger mid-sized enterprises with ‘full potential’ wallet of ~$5 – 10K MRC.  These customers will typically be large, regional enterprises with more than 10 locations within Segra’s footprint, and greater than 250 employees.  While Strategic Account Executives will be expected to identify customer prospects, they will also be provided target ‘named accounts’ by regional sales management as necessary.

Strategic Account Executives will also be allowed to retain select key customer accounts at any given time instead of these accounts being shifted to account management.  These accounts will be reviewed on an annual basis with regional sales management to determine if/ when they should be moved to an account manager.


  • Education:  Degree in sales / marketing or related field, equivalent work experience, or a combination thereof

  • Experience:   Previous Enterprise level, ILEC-CLEC sales experience and/or managed services experience preferred

    • At least 7+ years of telecommunications sales or technology sales experience specifically including sales of products such as core connectivity, extended connectivity, storage and cloud services, and/or security solutions

    • Significant experience with serving and selling to major enterprise accounts (i.e. sales >~$5 – 10K MRC)

  • Key Competencies:  Strong Communication skills; Time management skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred
