Heavy/Specialized Business Development Coordinator

SUMMARY

Coordinate daily activities within a department. Respond to inquiries that arise. Work with multiple parties, both internally and externally, to ensure smooth operations.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and review issues that arise

  • Prepare needed documentation

  • Uses discretion to problem solve

  • Ask questions when unsure

  • Prepare any needed correspondence

  • Work with 3rd parties as needed

  • Respond to all inquiries timely

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Microsoft Office and Internet knowledge

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Professional demeanor

  • Good organizational skills

  • Knowledge of Heavy Specialized equipment, rules, and regulations preferred.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s preferred

  • Minimum Experience: Four years of relevant experience required

 

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES and/or SKILLS

 

  • Provide support, training, and assistance to agents and region management with the primary focus on increasing the heavy specialized customer base and revenue

  • Promote heavy specialized business growth by providing support, training and assistance to the regional team in developing their heavy specialized opportunities.

  • Guide and assist agents in using all tools and resources provided within the Landstar Systems so they have a strong understanding of rules and regulations of over dimensional freight

  • Work alongside agents, regional management and capacity to find competitive solutions to customer’s heavy haul needs

  • Monitor, measure and create reports on revenue, pricing trends and customer base within assigned region to identify opportunities for growth and development

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
