SUMMARY

Provide support, training, and assistance to agents and region management with the primary focus on increasing the heavy specialized customer base and revenue.  Promote heavy specialized business growth by increasing the agent's and region management’s interest in marketing and developing heavy specialized opportunities and customers.  Assist agents with competitive solutions to their customer’s needs by using all tools and resources to gain market share with contract, spot bid, and project type business customers.  Monitor Heavy Specialized revenue and customer base and actively communicate with agents and region management. Support and develop relationships with all capacity in the region to maximize the ability to meet the customer’s needs.  Identify and develop new customer opportunities in the heavy specialized and platform sector, and measure the success of those opportunities.  Insure that agents and capacity understand all rules and regulations of over dimensional freight with safety as our number one priority.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Increase Heavy Specialized revenue by working with each agent in the region to market, sell, and develop their Heavy Specialized customer base. 

  • Assist region management in marketing and developing heavy specialized opportunities.  

  • Assist and teach agents how to identify and develop customer leads, rate/price heavy specialized business, source capacity, and further develop existing customer business.

  • Develop solutions to all customer requests for transport of goods and services.

  • Complete rate requests submitted by agent via the heavy specialized rate system.  

  • Work with Business Capacity Owners (BCOs) and third party capacity to identify their capabilities and trailer specification. 

  • Train agents in the proper procedure to post available loads internally and externally. 

  • Assign new leads to region management/agents for development, and monitor and measure the process.  Develop reports to identify and measure successes and areas for improvement.

 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

  • Working knowledge of U.S. geography

  • Knowledge of Word and Excel, Internet, required, PowerPoint, preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Problem resolution skills

  • Ability to travel 5% to 10% of time

  • Ability to acquire major credit card for travel

  • Data entry skills 90+ kpm, preferred

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • Prior transportation industry knowledge experience, especially heavy specialized, preferred

  • Ability to work on Saturday and holiday rotation schedule

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

       Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED, Associate degree or higher; preferred;

Minimum Experience: Two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Years’ Experience for full proficiency in role: Six months
