Supervisor - Focus Factory-Lynchburg Production Indirect
Assisting the Production Manager in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all activities in the filling and packaging area.
Interacting with other departments in coordinating production schedules and related activities.
Accountable for safety, quality, and the attainment of cost and performance objectives.
Communicates and provides feedback to direct reports and team members regarding performance expectations.
Interacts with other departments to achieve production schedule.
Verify, on a day to day basis, that production staff follows procedures and instructions, completing records, and operating safely.
Observe timeliness of day to day activities to facilitate meeting manufacturing schedules.
Assuring that staff receives necessary training and maintains all regulatory requirements within the operations department including that for, GMPs, safety, and protecting the environment.
Performing performance appraisals and initiates employee disciplinary action.
Other Job Functions:
Assists in developing long-term infrastructure plans.
Identifies or recommends new or upgrading of equipment and/or methods to improve productivity and capacity.
Ensures processing areas are clean and orderly at all times.
Determines capital required to meet emerging business needs.
Investigate errors, accidents and quality defects.
Establishes and revises standard work procedures and best manufacturing practices.
Work with production control to organize and plan daily production schedules.
Provides leadership, direction and coaching to production team.
Maintains a positive employee relations environment, while properly motivating and coaching the workforce.
Works with other supervisors to ensure accurate and detailed shift changeovers occur.
Must adhere to production labor standards.
Performs additional duties and tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must have the physical skills and ability to work a flexible schedule around frequently changing production demands.
Problem solving and analytical skills
Computer proficiency in Excel, Word and Power Point.
Good understanding of FDA Good Manufacturing Practices Regulations (GMP’s) and OSHA safety requirements.
Self starter with strong work ethic.
Strong interpersonal and team building skill.
Education & Experience:
BA/BS in Engineering or related technical field
One (1) to Two (2) years progressive experience in a filling and packaging environment, preferably cosmetics or pharmaceutical; or, in lieu of a degree, some college level courses and five (5) to seven (7) years progressive experience in such an environment.
Good working conditions; climate controlled
Exposure to frequent movement of motorized equipment throughout production floor (Electric Pallet Jacks)
Frequent exposure to moving machinery.
