Raw Material Incoming Inspector - Day Shift
Position: Raw Material Incoming Inspector
Department: QC lab
Reporting Structure: Vice President Technical Services
Reporting to this position: No direct reports
Receive, sample and process all raw materials received for bulk manufacturing. Assure that all containers are properly identified and labeled before placed in active inventory.
Confirm that all incoming raw materials have a purchase order, Certificate of Analysis, SDS (Safety Data Sheet) and are properly labeled upon arrival.
Inspect containers for any evidence of leakage and/or tampering.
Collect samples in accordance with SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and cGMP’s (current Good Manufacturing Practices), label and submit to QC lab for testing and validation.
Quarantine all incoming raw materials until a release is issued by QC Lab.
Apply release stickers once raw material has been released by lab.
Record material movement with use of RF scanner (radio frequency device).
Ensure that sampling area is kept clean and free of any possible contaminants.
Collect samples as requested by QC lab for re-evaluation or re-testing due to shelf life or expiration dates.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must have basic English oral, written and communication skills.
Basic Math skills required.
Knowledge of use of radio frequency devices (RF Scanners) a plus.
Ability and knowledge to properly use scales.
Computer Proficiency Required.
Ensure full compliance to all Safety Protocols and Programs.
Perform duties within the guidelines of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Individual must be able to operate equipment such as but not limited to; pallet jacks, and drum movement equipment.
Has basic working knowledge and understanding of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
Time management and attention to detail a required skill.
While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, bend and use hands to handle objects, tools and controls, reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee may be required to move or lift objects exceeding 70 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Use of computer screen and keyboard required.
EDUCATION / TRAINING
High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing department experience. A combination of vocational training, education and experience that is equivalent to the employment standards listed above and provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
This position is classified non-exempt and may require working an excess of 40 working hours in any given week as production and manufacturing schedules demand. Such determinations will be made solely at the discretion of management.
