ISO New England oversees the 24/7 operation of the power grid that covers the six-states of  New England and administers the region’s $10+ billion “stock exchange” for the buying and selling of wholesale electricity. The power system is constantly evolving as new technologies emerge and energy policies evolve. There is a lot going on at our organization behind the scenes to make sure the grid continuously yields reliable electricity at competitive prices while addressing the unique challenges that come along with our industry.
Intern - IT – Architecture, Databases and Analytics

The IT department at ISO New England is responsible for Enterprise Software and Security Architecture, Data Architecture and Modeling and Data Analytics. This intern will work with a technical lead to analyze current Systems Integrations. Responsibilities also include capturing and cataloging existing application artifacts and third party software libraries by aiding automation.

How You Will Make an Impact:
  • Analyze existing systems integration catalog
  • Develop code and document processes to enhance and automate the discovery of system integrations
  • Enhance existing systems integration catalog with code to capture additional requirements deployed application artifacts using automation
  • Create mechanism to catalog, categorize and develop reporting on usage of third party libraries
  • Collaborate and communicate with business owners and customers 
What We Look For:
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages like Python and relational databases 
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong team player
Minimum Education Level: Rising Junior
Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems
To be eligible for the internship candidate must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four year or graduate-level academic program. Candidates must have the authority to work in the US on a permanent basis, without requiring sponsorship.
