QUALITY ENGINEER- Supplier Quality Management 
This is a contract role 

Job Responsibilities

·Contact vendors and liaise between engineers, scientists, procurement and suppliers to research and gather data to approve or reject suppliers

·Conduct supplier quality audits on a regular basis to ensure vendors and their supplies remain in compliance with company and federal manufacturing, AS9100 and/or ISO9001 production standards

·Quality liaison for SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Reports)- Work with Procurement to communicate with vendors to address any concerns and foster an environment that facilitates continual improvement

·Understand, participate and interpret all internal and external 3rd party audits, including AS9100 and other industry standards

·Implement supplier management approval process flow and training company-wide

·Maintain a supplier database with documentation/reports and include performance evaluations and quality control audits in the database for in-house access by company and management personnel

·Help create and maintain a CPP (Counterfeit Parts Prevention) process flow as well as perform incoming receiving inspection related to CPP, and other programs that require procurement specifications

·Quality approvals for Purchase Requisitions, and apply flow down requirements as needed

·Manage the Supplier Quality process with a risk based approach to comply with all AS9100 requirements

·Work with Procurement to ensure all supplier quality requirements are in place & met


Job Skills & Qualifications

Required:

·Knowledge and experience with AS9100 and or ISO9001

·Excellent understanding of supplier quality management processes

·Excellent in-house and external communication and liaison skills

·Knowledge of government compliance and quality control regulatory standards

·Knowledge of supplier management software/database platforms

·Previous onsite supplier auditing experience

·Advanced process improvement/enhancement skills

·Quality inspection skills to check incoming products (CPP and vs. specifications)

·Knowledge of “risk based” approach”

·Knowledge of corrective action process

·Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Preferred:

·Prior supplier quality management experience

·Bachelor’s degree in engineering science or logistics, OR equivalent experience
 
Experience with Counterfeit Parts Prevention Plans (CPP) 

***This position has the potential to turn into a full time permanent role.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Selected candidates will be hired through a temporary agency and subject to the agency's pre-employment substance abuse testing.
