Senior Hardware Engineer

Support Test & Design teams with hardware development, integration, and test of electrical & mechanical systems
. Job functions include, testing and troubleshooting hardware assemblies, design modifications to printed circuit board and mechanical assemblies, creating design documentation for hardware procurement, generating test procedures, maintaining inventory of electronic and mechanical components, maintaining laboratory equipment inventory and equipment calibration records. Support production testing of subassemblies using real time data acquisition systems and report generation.

Experience in
solving technical problems in research, development and production testing environment.Familiarity with reading schematics, and mechanical drawings. Ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware at system level and component level for real time data acquisition systems. Excellent soldering skills for cable assemblies, and printed circuit board fine pitched surface mount components. Familiarity with using printed circuit board designer tools, and Solidworks. Experience using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzer. Exposure to working with vendors and customers as technical support. Team based technical performance is essential.

Knowledge of drawings sets required for printed circuit board and mechanical component manufacturing.Knowledge of real time image data acquisition system operation. Familiarity with Altium PCB Design Tools. Knowledge using Solidworks, and export to 2D drawing sets. Use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and proficiency in distilling data and generating technical reports and presentations. 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline with at least 2 years of related experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (e.g. driver’s license special tools or restrictions): U.S. citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. 

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
