Summer Internship in Cognitive Systems for Perception
ASSIGNMENT DURATION: 2-4 Months
LABOR CHARGE: DIRECT
SCHEDULED WORK WEEK HOURS: 20-40 hours/week
EDUCATION DESIRED: MS, Ph.D., or pursuing a graduate degree in CS or EE.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist technical staff in developing, implementing and evaluating the performance ofmachine learning algorithms that process images to recognize and track objects using heterogeneousdata sources and additional knowledge such as semantics and physics laws.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Research/development experience in machine learning and computer vision. Experience programming inPython, C, C++, JAVA, OpenCV, PCL, and/or Matlab/Simulink. Experience in using machine learning tools and packages (e.g., Caffe, Torch, TensorFlow).
KNOWLEDGE DESIRED: Computer vision - object detection, object tracking, activity recognition, scene classification, scene understanding. Machine learning - deep learning, Convolutional Neural Networks, Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), Long short-term memory (LSTM) neural networks, recurrent neural networks and reinforcement learning. Concepts and Semantics- knowledgegraphs, natural language processing, ontologies. Logic - temporal logic, probabilistic signal temporal logic.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Good communication, presentation and writing skills.
Selected candidates will be hired through a temporary agency and subject to the agency's pre-employment substance abuse testing.
