Internship in Quantum Control Software Engineering
Come join HRL’s team of world-leading experts in silicon heterostructure quantum dots to help demonstrate and develop novel technologies.A key component of these demonstrations will be improving the control software.Our custom software stack is the command and control center for each experiment and includes components for hardware control, data analysis, data visualization, dashboards, and more. This position is an opportunity to work on both front-end and back-end software components in a fast-paced research and development environment.
Education Desired :
Pursuing a Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field
Essential Job Functions :
Design, develop, deploy, and operate software used for testing and analyzing experimental quantum devices. Work with a team of scientists and engineers to improve our quantum technology capabilities and support novel demonstrations.
Experience and Knowledge Desired:
Development of object oriented software, web applications, and data visualization. Experience in compiled languages like C/C++ and scripting languages like Python.Experience in quantum science and/or experimental methods is desirable.
Essential Physical/Mental Requirements :
Ability to spend extended periods of time at a computer monitor. Excellent problem solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced heterogeneous team environment.Able to solve problems on your own and proactively identify the path forward.
