EDUCATION DESIRED:

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) from the American Payroll Association (APA).Bachelors’ degree in Finance or Accounting a
plus.Equivalent experience will be considered.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Have an interest in the performance of the critical function of payroll at an entity that supports two of the largest companies in the world?Located in Malibu and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the primary function of this position is overseeing and executing the bi-weekly
payroll for 500+ employees.Assists employees, managers and coordinates with Human Resources with payroll questions and issues
as they arise.Ensure the Company’s compliance to standards, policies and procedures are effectively implemented in a consistent manner throughout the organization.Confirm payroll taxes with a special emphasis in California payroll requirements and applicability of the Fair Labor
Standards Act (FSLA).Ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and compliance with federal/state/local regulations.Establish and maintain payroll records and controls that comply with legal and regulatory requirements, provide internal safeguards, and respond to federal, state, and local audit inquiries.Set up/maintain garnishments
and multi-state payroll taxes.Maintains and reconciles accrued Paid Time Off (PTO) liability to insure proper balances are reported and makes adjustments as required.
Maintains payroll guidelines by updating policies and procedures as required.Studies existing and new federal/state legislation, enforcing adherence and advising management on needed actions.Updates/implements payroll system changes as needed to meet business requirements and in coordination with Human Resources.


EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

5+ years processing end-to-end payroll experience and in performing a timekeeping function within a matrix organization.Firm understanding of the relationship between timekeeping and payroll functions.Skilled in the ability to audit and ensure accurate completion of payroll, including files and reports, W2’s, W2C, ACA, 1095C and preparing and submitting the monthly union invoice.Working knowledge of current federal and
multi-state laws, regulations and local withholdings as applies to payroll and the relationship with proper timekeeping recording.Experienced in providing accurate and timely email and business correspondence, including responding to inquiries.Strong interpersonal skills, excellent
written and oral communication abilities, able to confidently interface with people; develop and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of the organization, vendors, staff and customers.Strong project, time and organizational management.Proven problem-solving ability and work independently with integrity, a positive attitude, strong sense of professionalism, and ethical integrity in regard to confidential
information.Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a quick moving environment.

KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:

Working knowledge of California and Federal Payroll law and its implications to employees. Proficiency in the MS Office suite of programs, particularly in the use of MS Excel (VLOOKUPS and pivot tables).Strong analytical skills to perform payroll.Ability to quickly learn and utilize
financial systems and tools such as Deltek Costpoint and Unanet.Prior experience working with Ultipro is a definite plus.Understanding how to apply internal control considerations is a definite plus.
