Benefits & Compensation Specialist
 

The Benefits & Compensation Specialist focuses on the preparatory and repetitive tasks as he/she gains the experience and recognizes the quality of data. The specialist learns to use correct data sources and the main C&B processes in HRL.
 

EXPERIENCE DESIRED: At least 4 years of direct work experience handling benefits and compensation matters.
 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure compensation and benefits standards comply with company policies and/or other regulations or legislation.

  • Analyze, review, recommend, and obtain approval for changes to compensation and benefits at the state level.

  • Responsible for the data cleaning, preparation of reports, and the data accuracy.

  • Assist in development of policies and procedures to support the compensation and benefits function.

  • Participate in market and salary surveys; analyze trends in both benefits and compensation.

  • Participates in HR projects and provides inputs for the successful completion of projects.

  • Monitor reviews of compensation and benefits packages to maintain market positioning.


BENEFITS

  • Assist in the administration of benefit plans and programs in accordance with plan documents, insurance carrier, vendor agreements and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Function as liason between vendors and employees and advise employee on eligibility, coverage, and other benefit matters.

  • Support leave of absence processes, including tracking and administration of FMLA & ADA.

  • Review and resolve data feed discrepancies through monitoring of vendor error reports

  • Assist in conducting new hire benefit orientation.

  • Assist in the reconciliation of monthly benefits invoices

COMPENSATION

  • Assists with position description updates and job classification processes to ensure consistency

  • Supports Director of Human Resources and Recruiting with position description updates and job classification process to ensure consistency.

  • Aids in the evaluations and analyzation of salary data, determination of pay grades for new or existing jobs, including market pricing.

  • Participates in compensation surveys input and review.

  • Works with recruiting and finance in the preparation of offers of employment

  • Participates in compensation surveys input and review.

  • Assist in the preparation of salary offers for new hires, promotions, transfers, and other compensation actions.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience required.


KNOWLEDGE DESIRED: Strong analytical, research, communication and problem solving skills. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Word and Advanced Excel skills required. 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Strong written and verbal communication, problem solving, planning, and teamwork skills are required.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
