Engineer I - RF Packaging
EDUCATION DESIRED: Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or associates degree with minimum 2 years of related experience
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Set up and conduct basic DC and RF testing (e.g. voltage, current and power measurement) of RF wafers, boards and modules. Organize test data and report results to technical staff. Layout work for wafer processing and boards. Hands-on semiconductor wafer fabrication in a Class 10 cleanroom, with emphasis on microfabrication processing. Wet/dry etching, die bonding, and electroplating. Develop or refine fabrication processes. Troubleshoot and resolve process problems. Work closely with senior technical staff to perform experiments, document experimental findings.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: This is an entry level position, with experience in semiconductor processing a plus. Experience with CAD layout is very desirable. Must have working knowledge of standard DC and RF test equipment.
KNOWLEDGE DESIRED: Understanding of DC, RF and microwave engineering, such as scattering parameters, input/output impedance matching, noise and power is required. Knowledge of basic passive and transistor device operation are a plus. Processes associated with semiconductor device and IC fabrication is necessary.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be sufficiently mobile to work within confined spaces and have both visual and hearing acuity. Must be able to work within a class 10 Cleanroom. Able to perform precise and delicate manual parts handling and processing. Must be able to work safely with and around potentially toxic and hazardous materials, chemicals and gases. Good hand eye coordination. Must be able to work with little supervision and be a strong team player in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (e.g. driver’s license, special tools or restrictions): U.S. citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
