Engineer III - IC Physical Layout Engineer
EDUCATION DESIRED: BS or MS., Electrical Engineering
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Experience in Cadence Virtuoso layout design flow and worked in high performance analog CMOS/BICMOS layouts including block level and chip level layout requirements. Understanding of parasitic impact on circuit performance, mask-reticle implementation is a plus. Capable of top level floor planning of blocks and knowledge of transistors, capacitors, and resistors in sub-micron process.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: At least 3 years as IC physical layout with ability to:
•Capability to communicate effective with circuit designers and flow down the layout design requirements.
•Understand CAD tools: Cadence Virtuoso, Calibre DRC/LVS/LPE, Assura.
•Thorough understanding of deep sub-micron layout designs practices such as metal density rules, transistor and capacitor matching.
•Ability to resolve LVS/DRC errors.
•Parasitic extraction and layout optimization.
•Experience with layout of custom devices (eg. transistors, diodes, resistors, capacitors, MEM structures)
•Experience with full custom analog IC layout and high frequency RF IC layout
•Familiarity with semiconductor IC technologies (e.g., SiGe BiCMOS, deep sub micron CMOS (FinFET and FDSOI), and III-V technologies (GaN, InP, etc.).
•Strong background in performing full custom analog, mixed-signal and RF IC layout.
•Full custom circuit, block, and chip layout using Cadence Virtuoso tools, Layout L/XL, and physical verification tools Assura and Calibre
•Capable of customizing/generating standard cells for automated digital design flows
•Familiarity with Linux workstation environment
•Familiarity with electromagnetic (EM) impact on layout is a plus
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Proficiency in use of computers, engineering work stations, complex electronic equipment, oral and written communication, interaction with vendors/colleagues and willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to work well in a team and independently. Self-starter with the ability to take ownership of projects, keep them well organized, and drive them to completion.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: U.S. citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Active SSBI is a plus.
