Director, Mission Assurance
Lead Mission Assurance for HRL’s IR Focal Plane Array development efforts. Develop the plan for meeting or exceeding Space Flight Class C mission compliance. Assist with customer meetings and other deliverable interactions as necessary to convey plans, progress, risks, and mission readiness.
Lead Focal Plane development project for HRL’s 8kx8k program. Select and develop best processes for focal plane manufacturing. Document processes through the creation of baseline procedures and develop the model for changing baseline processes & procedures.
Develop the plan for properly scaling IR and other program mission assurance practices and help implement the practices into procedures. Communicate effectively with the IR fabrication and other program leads.
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, or related field. Professional development in engineering project management highly desirable.
Prior experience (10 years +) in mission assurance of government programs required. Prior experience (10 year+) in infrared focal plane array development industry is required. Experience in systems engineering is highly desirable. Team leadership skills also desirable.
Broad knowledge of infrared focal plane array engineering is required. Knowledge of IR detectors, ROIC electronics, camera packaging and testing is required. Knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 certification and lean manufacturing is required. Ability to interact with HRL’s technical teams. Knowledge of basic program management skills including budgets, scheduling, resource planning and customer statusing.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Strong interpersonal skills; team building and leadership capabilities; solid written/verbal communication and presentation skills; travel required.
Ability to obtain and maintain interim and/or final top secret clearance (post start); active secret DoD or IC (or DOE equivalent) security clearance is a plus. US citizenship required.
