HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union is currently looking for a collaborative, solution-oriented IT Security Analyst to join our Information Technology Team.  The IT Security Analyst will ensure the secure operation of the in-house computer systems, servers, and network connections, develop and deliver a comprehensive information security and privacy program, protect HawaiiUSA FCU information and its infrastructure from external or internal threats, and assure that the HawaiiUSA FCU complies with statutory and regulatory requirements regarding technical information access, security and privacy. The role will also involve checking server and firewall logs, scrutinizing network traffic for credit union violations, evaluating inconsistent adherence to security policies, analyzing and resolving security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and conduct user activity audits where required, and collaborating with the Systems Architect/Security Manager to deliver cyber security and user awareness strategy.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Certifications in CISSP, SSCP, CIS or equivalent (preferred)

  • 1-year experience managing information and network security & controls

  • Oversight experience with vulnerability and penetration testing

  • Broad hands-on knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices

  • In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems

  • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and network administration/protocols

  • Intuition and keen instincts to pre-empt attacks

  • Hands-on experience with devices such as hubs, switches, and routers

  • Knowledge of applicable practices and laws relating to data privacy and protection

  • Knowledge of law enforcement practices and procedures

  • High level of analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to conduct research into security issues and products as required

  • Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives

  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills

  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
