Technical Solutions Architect

The Technical Solutions Architect (TSA) is responsible for the design of one or more applications or services within an organization. The TSA defines features, phases and solution requirements and provides specifications according the solution defined, managed and delivered. In collaboration, with a development team, provides assistance with solutions regarding multiple aspects of technology to project stakeholders, and ensures that technical decisions obtain the desired business outcomes.


The primary goal of the El Rio Health Technical Solutions Architect is to support El Rio’s Mission of providing comprehensive, quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all who may have healthcare needs, by successfully performing the primary essential functions.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Delivers and integrates enterprise-level software deployed within the context of larger technical solutions. This software includes but is not limited to:
    • Electronic Health Record Systems (i.e. NextGen)
    • Electronic Dental Record Systems (i.e. NextGen\QSI, Dentrix)
    • Retail Pharmacy Operations (i.e. Liberty, QS1)
    • Laboratory Operations (i.e. SunQuest)
    • APIs and Interfaces (FHIR, HL7)
  • Assists with technical scoping and design through the entire project life cycle.
  • Understands the customer’s requirements and translates these into technical designs suited to meet their business needs.
  • Translates customer requirements into comprehensive and clear technical design documents and builds a corresponding solution architecture and project implementation documents.
  • Identifies short and long-term product opportunities or gaps and provides actionable recommendations to customers.
  • Assesses, investigates, and provides conclusion on suitability for all non-standard products and services.
  • Acts as primary liaison between operational and technical El Rio Health teams and customer peer teams.
  • Keeps abreast of technical innovations, new products and services with a may be of interest including but not limited to:
    • Data center,
    • Virtualization
    • Security
    • Mobility
    • Unified communication
    • Cloud solutions
  • Determines the organization’s business requirements to design solutions that cross platforms, integrate systems, and improve processes.
  • Analyzes the requirements of large systems by breaking them down into manageable units.
  • Researches available products to decide if they will be suitable for a specified project.
  • Discusses plans for the structure of the system with the client and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with members of the IT department to educate regarding the systems’ structure and provides assistance to them throughout the delivery process.
  • Ensures that systems are working properly by carrying out testing procedures.
  • Ensures that systems satisfy quality standards and procedures.
  • Contributes to the creation of standardized processes and best practices.
  • Works with IT leadership on planning for an organization’s future IT requirements.

 

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven (7) years of experience communication complex technical concepts to internal and external business and technical audiences including but not limited to:
    • IT Architecture
    • Infrastructure
    • Cloud Development
    • Engineering and software architecture design
    • Business Analysis DevOps
    • Product and Project Management

 

If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job.
 

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

  • Microsoft Azure or SQL Certifications
  • Employees in this position will  be required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver’s license and must comply with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.

 

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities:

  • Master’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Ten (10) years of experience communication complex technical concepts to internal and external business and technical audiences including but not limited to:
    • IT Architecture
    • IT Infrastructure
    • Cloud Development
    • Engineering and software architecture design
    • Business Analysis DevOps
