Broadcast Design Engineer - Sterling, VA (M&E) 
Will be the single point of responsibility for definition, design and documentation of assigned projects.
* You will take customer requirements and design a system that meets those requirements. 
* It could range from a simple automated playout to an entire newsroom studio and production control room.  
* Broadcast Design Engineer - Sterling, VA (M&E) should be highly motivated, eager to learn new technologies and able to react to rapidly changing conditions while maintaining professionalism.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills to build strong and trusting customer relationships.  

What will you be doing?   
  • Manages own time to perform within defined schedule  
  • Interfaces with assigned sales staff in developing solutions  
  • Interfaces with clients in developing solutions  
  • Interfaces with all Tech-Ops and Engineering staff in developing site-specific solutions  
  • Maintains awareness of emerging solutions and technologies  
  • Maintains a working knowledge of emerging trends in the industry  
  • Provides solutions within the customer’s budget without sacrificing quality and reliability  
  • Develops detailed and accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) as part of system design  
  • Develops conceptual / functional broadcast system documentation  
  • Ensure Job Summary or Scope of work is complete and accurate  
  • Develop detailed and accurate engineering drawings for rack layout, system wiring and custom  
  • plates or cabling assemblies  
  • Prepares submittals for consultant-specified and bid jobs  
  • Assists technicians with field questions and clarifications  
  • Provides testing, commissioning and training services as required for customers and end users  
  • Performs other tasks as requested  
What do we require from you?   
  • College degree or requisite experience in Audio Visual / Broadcast system integration design  
  • Proven experience designing and developing broadcast solutions required  
  • Must be familiar with broadcast vendor solutions such as but not limed to: Evertz, Ross, Imagine, Grass Valley, Sony 
  • A thorough, demonstrable understanding of systems integration techniques, as well as creative problem-solving capability  
  • Skilled in the use of common MS Office applications – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio  
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD software required 
  • IT Network Experience  
  • Knowledge of Routing and Switching technologies, protocols and architectures  
  • Knowledge of PTP is a plus  
  • Unrestricted driver’s license 
  • Able to occasionally lift objects up to 50lbs. 
  • Able to travel as required 
  • Successful drug test
