The Sales Director - Education Technology (EdTech) - position is an exciting sales leadership role within the Diversified Canada management team, responsible for executing sales, business development strategies and mentoring Account Executives in targeted Education Accounts and within the various Diversified specialty areas.

The Education Technology space is going through a major transition as classrooms shift from projection to interactive flat panels, STEM solutions become more important and as technology continues to change the way we teach and learn. 

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a charismatic and innovative thinker to help propel the growth of the company.  This individual will work with an existing sales team to develop, coordinate and implement plans designed to increase existing business in the education vertical and help capture new EdTech opportunities in the marketplace.

The position's primary responsibility is to leverage the company’s existing position in the marketplace, strengthening and growing relationships with existing clients in addition to achieving incremental sales growth for the firm's services in Ontario and other regions in Canada.   
Acting as a Player/Coach, the candidate will develop revenue-producing relationships with decision-making executives at targeted school districts, private schools and assigned higher education institutions, as well as manage the team to drive the sales cycle of all assigned sales opportunities from initial prospect communication through contract execution. 

The job responsibilities of the Installation Technician include the following:
  • Manage the Education Sales Team including developing sales strategies to secure business in all areas of Classroom Technology including Audiovisual, STEM solutions/Makerspaces and Robotics. 
  • Function as a Senior Sales Leader developing new business with identified and assigned strategic education accounts.  The Director of Sales will be responsible for leading new business opportunities from early identification phase of the opportunity through final submittal, spanning End User Engagement, Sources Sought, Requests for Information (RFIs) or Requests for Proposal (RFPs). This will include the development of capture plans; win themes, budget development and budget execution.
  • Act as the ‘face of the education group’ with major education accounts and manufacturer partners as well as at industry events and trade shows
  • Mentor education account executives to develop, implement and execute targeted account sales strategies to expand the Diversified footprint in Ontario and into other provinces
  • Travel as needed to meet with key clients face to face to develop and enhance relationships
  • Work to develop new product categories for the education team to pursue.
  • Help enhance the education group’s presence in the public eye including our thought leadership position in the marketplace.   This may include delivering presentations, conducting seminars and participating in meetings with other industry leaders as required.
  • Work closely with Bid Desk Manager to develop bids and quotes along with any required supporting documentation. Support the proposal development efforts for larger opportunities.

What do we require from you?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or related field highly preferred 
  • 5+ years’ experience managing sales and business operations in the Edtech or collaborative technology space
  • Proven track record selling technology solutions to the K-12 market required
  • Extensive experience with Classroom Audio Visual systems and/or unified collaboration is required 
  • Experience developing and implementing business processes and streamlining operations 
  • Experience with planning, implementing and managing the activities of recruiting, training, scheduling and best practices sales techniques  
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution
