We are looking for a Freelance / 1099 Engineer in Charge (Media & Entertainment) to be based on-site on a full-time basis at a client-owned eSports-focused studio facility in New York City.

What part will you play? 
The EIC will be self-directed and responsible for satisfying the technical needs of the client in their studio production and retail store environments. The EIC will also be responsible for coordinating with client stakeholders and 3rd party designees and/or partners in the execution of scheduled, studio and store special live events.
The EIC will be required to maintain the technical facilities in a ready state and modify the systems and spaces as necessary and agreed upon by client. This will include the execution of a preventative maintenance program, the specification and managed deployment of new technologies when and where required, the creation and maintenance of all technical documentation, the performance testing of all systems, and the reporting of all conditions to the client’s representative(s). 

The overall commitment of the client and the number of hours spent on dedicated client site will flux based on production schedule and client commitment.      

What will you be doing? 
The job responsibilities of the Freelance / 1099 Engineer in Charge (Media & Entertainment) include the following:
Ensure the readiness and performance of the Studio and Retail Store broadcast and AV systems including but not limited to studio production, signal encoding, file-based workflows/MAM, media IT, display technologies, gaming systems, streaming services and signal monitoring.
Liaise with the client and its designees or other 3rd parties in the specification and fulfillment of technologies for special events.
Manage and perform on-site maintenance, routine testing, break/fix, troubleshooting including recognition of failed components, notification and reporting of conditions to client.
Train client and 3rd party production technicians and video specialists in the use of the studio systems to ensure proper and successful show execution.
Manage specification, engineering, deployment, testing and end user training of new technology and tools as necessary to meet the client’s business needs.
Liaise with manufacturers and service providers in support of new solutions specifications, deployments, break-fix and sustained support.
Provide oversight of 3rd party studio usages including studio wrap up and loss/damage reporting to client.  
Support daily studio and store operations, functionality and support of gaming pods and VIP tours as requested.
General upkeep of the studio spaces and systems including cable management, cleanliness, systems storage and inventory. 
Report to and work within the designated client site representing Diversified and acting as an extension of the client’s team.
This role could have the candidate performing system testing, blue line commissioning at other client locations as time allows.
Broadcast system audit, troubleshooting, and potentially design could evolve as the position expands and contracts to meet the client needs.

What do we require from you?
* Already ready to work on subcontractor / 1099 basis. 
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. 
Minimum 5 years relevant experience with technologies defined herein 
Working understanding of the eSports production industry, its practices and associated technologies.
Advanced understanding of advanced broadcast and production signal formats and standards including but not limited to SDI, IP, UHD, 4k, 8k, HDR
Excellent testing, troubleshooting and recovery skills. 
Ability to build quality customer and vendor relationships
Ability to understand future industry trends and apply to existing technical operations
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-visibility corporate environment with Fortune 100 type organizations.
Position requires lifting of equipment up to 100lbs. 
Position requires frequent and/or extended standing, kneeling, sitting or lifting. 
Open seating environment.
Will require work on evenings, weekends and holidays, sometimes on short notice
Some travel may be required.
