We are currently seeking a highly skilled Benefits Manager/Director to join the Del Taco HR Team located in our Corporate Headquarters in Lake Forest, California.
The Benefits Manager/Director primarily maintains the company’s benefit and 401k plans among other duties in support of the HR Department.
Benefits

Responsible for maintaining all lines of group and voluntary insurance programs including accurate benefit reconciliation monthly

Affordable Care Act administration for field hourly population

Assists and troubleshoot employees with benefit related employee relations issues

Maintains integrity of our benefits enrollment system

Reviews/approves employee transactions, maintains life events and Evidence of Insurability for Supplemental life plans

Performs regular benefit audits to ensure accuracy

Monitors COBRA activity

Works closely with payroll with regard to benefit deductions, rate changes, transfers, etc.

Assists VP in obtaining reports on statistical and other information

Coordinates annual benefit renewal

Plans and delivers Open Enrollment employee meetings

Assists with 401k administration and annual audit

Establishes and maintains relationships with insurance brokers and provider companies
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is highly preferred
- 5+ years in HR, Benefits or related Benefits/HR administration position
- Customer Service, Can-Do Attitude
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task and work independently
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a very fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Ability to juggle multiple projects, switch gears quickly and meet assigned deadlines
- Ability and willingness to quickly learn, comprehend and apply company policies, procedures and practices in addition to the company’s benefit plans
- Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
- Effectively communicate with employees and others in potentially stressful situations while maintaining a professional and approachable attitude
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality on all HR and Benefits/HIPPA related issues
- Must have excellent Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook skills and must be able to adapt to other system and internal applications as needed.
- Ceridian Dayforce experience is a plus!
Education and Work Experience
- A bachelor's degree and/or 5+ years experience in Benefits Management and Administration or any appropriate combination of education and experience.
- PHR or SPHR OR SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) preferred.
