Patient Services Receptionist
CU Medicine is dedicated to providing healthcare and administrative support to the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine’s nearly 3,000 providers. We are seeking a highly motivated Patient Services Receptionist to join our team. This position does not sit in a hospital or clinic setting.
The purpose of the Patient Services Receptionist is to elevate the University of Colorado patient experience by maintaining a wonderful and welcoming demeanor at the front desk reception area. A successful individual in this position will be friendly, courteous, and helpful to all internal and external customers. Flexibility is a key attribute to the achievement of this position. The individual in this role will manage the reception area, guide external and internal customers and patients in a pleasant and knowledgeable way. Handle approximately 50 incoming calls per day. Function as the Returned Mail expert, research and process this inventory with careful attention to detail. Process patient payments to ensure quick and easy process for patients that do not need explanation of their bills. Willingly serve as backup to the Patient Services Clerical Support Representative to include but not be limited to attorney requests, bankruptcies, scanning and faxing. Additional projects and duties may be assigned as necessary by managers and supervisors.
Requires high school diploma or equivalent. Bi-lingual is preferred. Must be technically proficient. Requires strong verbal and written communication skills. Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills. Professional maturity and ability to exercise sound judgement are essential. Ability to communicate with empathy and maturity is necessary. Excellent time management skills are needed including punctuality and reliability, avoidance of unscheduled time off and balancing multiple competing priorities.
