Planned Parenthood is the nation's leading sexual and reproductive health care provider and advocate. The Community Outreach Group is a part of Planned Parenthood, but a separate organization that supports Planned Parenthood with short-term staffing and large-scale advocacy campaigns.

General Description

Community Outreach Group is seeking an enthusiastic Program Director, reporting to the Executive Director. The Program Director will lead a team of Campaign Managers that will manage multiple contracts to fight attacks on reproductive health and manage proactive campaigns across the country, in close collaboration with Planned Parenthood state and local affiliates. The Program Director will work with Planned Parenthood’s national campaign department and affiliates to identify key campaigns, develop organizing programs, and manage the Campaign Managers to qualitative and quantitative goals. 


Responsibilities

This is a senior-level role within a political start-up organization. In this position, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with leaders in Planned Parenthood’s national and local offices to develop and execute top-tier advocacy or electoral programs.

  • Recruit, hire, train, and support campaign managers to build teams to implement campaign programs with excellence.

  • Manage and coach team members to reach qualitative and quantitative goals, while clearing roadblocks and supporting logistics to ensure team members can focus on the program.

  • Utilize state-of-the-art data and technology resources to ensure top performance on outcomes and quality. 

  • Develop and deliver orientation and development training to ensure all staff members have the tools to succeed.

  • Contribute to the organizational strategy and development of an exciting new start-up focused on running excellent, efficient, values-driven campaigns in support of sexual and reproductive health. 


Qualifications

Applicants for this position should bring the following knowledge, abilities, and attitude:

  • Has managed a multi-layer workforce (had at least 2 levels of direct reports) to run either paid or volunteer-driven programs

  • Have demonstrated experience using digital tools such as Hustle, Outvote, and MobilizeAmerica or innovative management systems to scale electoral programs

  • Has managed multiple offices, sites, or programs simultaneously

  • Has developed campaign or field plans (strategies to accomplish a goal)

  • Has developed and/or managed a project or campaign budget

  • Has developed training content and/or trained trainers and managers

  • An advanced understanding of how to break large goals into smaller pieces of work.

  • Demonstrated success in meeting goals and expectations, and managing others to goals

  • Knows how to use the VAN voter database software 

  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

  • Experience working with a diverse workforce and with/for communities of color

  • Licensed driver with access to a vehicle

  • Has some experience with additional campaign functions: communications, digital strategy, fundraising, etc. 

  • Has worked with or built coalitions or worked with table organizations (America Votes, State Voices, etc.)

  • Has experience developing relationships with partners and prospective clients, while maintaining existing client relationships 

  • Has some knowledge of or experience in reproductive health issues



There is no formal education requirement for this position. 


Compensation

This is a full-time, exempt, senior-level position with the Community Outreach Group, with an annual base salary between $100,000 - $108,000 depending on skills, experience, and qualifications. Full-time exempt employees are also eligible for a cell phone reimbursement up to $75/month, and employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance.
