Assistant Housekeeping Manager Job Description

Reports to:  Housekeeping Manager

Weekly Work Hours:  Full time

Shift Times:  As is typical to the hospitality industry, staff require the flexibility to work a range of shift times (morning, day, evening) and days of week (Sunday – Monday availability)

Pay Type:  Salary

Responsibilities include:

· Managing all staff, including the Housekeeping Supervisor(s)

· Coach, motivate, inspire and manage all housekeeping staff, supervisors, and assistant managers

· Conducting daily housekeeping meeting, other department shift meetings, other department meetings as required

· Scheduling of employees, ensuring adequate staff available

· Training staff

· Making recommendations and participating in decision-making re: monthly incentive rewards

· Making recommendations and participating in hiring decisions

· Participating with Housekeeping Manager regarding any staff disciplinary action

· Making recommendations and participating in termination decisions

· Participating in Staff evaluations process

· Acting as Department Head when the Housekeeping Manager is on vacation

· Liaising with other departments re: Housekeeping needs and requirements

· Purchasing

· Laundry transactions, include billing and inventory

· Logging found items in Lost & Found Log

· Ordering items and processing invoices (if assigned)

· Opening and closing of Housekeeping, specifically room assignments and cleaning

· Payroll process

· Room inspection

· Inspection of public places to determine cleaning schedule

· Attending daily, weekly and other leadership meeting as directed

· Other duties as assigned
