For over 45 years Club Fit staff has worked hard to create a club environment dedicated to helping people achieve their health and fitness goals in a state of the art facility with support, guidance and motivation from a professional and knowledgeable staff. The organization has been amazingly successful and has helped many people lead healthier lives. We are proud that the communities we serve are better due to the work we do. Job Title: Group Fitness Manager
Job Purpose
- Manage a progressive, well-balanced, smart and member-focused group fitness program.
- Recruit and develop a team of educated, entertaining and motivating instructors who deliver genuine hospitality.
Manages Operations
- Execute the day to day operations of the Group Fitness department, showing attention to detail in business
- Provide strong leadership to ensure communication of overall direction, coordination and development of the Group Fitness experience to the Group Fitness team members
- Ensure studio spaces are clean and well maintained
Staff Results
- Communicate job expectations and align them with the company mission statement and core values
- Plan, monitor and appraise performance results
- Ensure timely review of staff compensation packages
- Coach and discipline staff
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures
- Provide ongoing training for all staff to reinforce department standards and provide opportunities for enhancement of professional skills
- Conduct monthly staff meetings
- Recruit, select, orient, train, evaluate and terminate staff
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment
- Develop personal growth opportunities, ensuring exceptional quality in all staff
Department Strategy and Planning
- Develop a yearly budget
- Organize the planning and budget process
- Assemble and analyze critical information
- Maintain monthly budget income and expenses at or below budget

- Recommend actions to improve profits
- Develop and implement new and innovative programming
- Actively sell Club Fit products and services
Professional and Technical Knowledge
- Ongoing Club Fit Training
- Professional Certification
- Nationally recognized Group Fitness certification preferred
- CPR AED required within three months of start date
- First Aid required within three months of start date
Education and Experience
- Four-year college degree in related field, or significant experience within the fitness industry
- Two years of supervisory experience within the fitness industry

Team Work
- Respond to Member feedback (if applicable)
- Participate in the Manager on Duty program by performing the responsibilities of a Hospitality Supervisor (if applicable)
- Participate in internal and external community events with focus on promoting Club Fit programs and services
- Attend weekly manager meetings, weekly GM meetings, and monthly dual club meetings
- Interact effectively and meaningfully with staff at all levels at Club Fit and with vendors
- Demonstrate a mindfulness of embracing the neighborhood in the Group Fitness program strategies
Job Requirements
Ability to:
- Sit for extended periods of time
- Lift 10 lbs
- Understand and communicate both verbally and written in English
- Follow relevant directions
- Think independently and suggest effective solutions to potential challenges
- Work a flexible schedule as required by business needs
- Understand and comply with all company safety policies and their requirements
- Attend training meetings as scheduled
- Other duties as assigned
