The CNSL Assistant Coach will foster a sense of team while modeling and promoting good sportsmanship, and the spirit of friendly competition. The Assistant Coach will instruct and interact with swimmers so that they can develop and enhance skills and show growth throughout the season.

Under the direction of the CNSL Supervisor, the CNSL Assistant Coach shall assist the CNSL Head Coach in organizing and directing the activities associated with operation of the Columbia Association Neighborhood Swim League program.  The Columbia Neighborhood Swim League (CNSL) is primarily an instructional swim league contained within the structure of the Columbia Association outdoor pools.  The league provides a format in which each swimmer can test his or her performance in actual competition as a part of a team in an atmosphere of fun and good sportsmanship.  CNSL is not a U.S. Swimming program and therefore does not try to offer an advanced level of training.  It is the coach's job to teach the sport of swimming and to provide an opportunity for all swimmers, regardless of their ability, to have fun and enjoy the sport. The league allows for neighborhood focus for fun!

Coaching responsibilities include fostering a sense of TEAM within the CNSL, your staff and the community of your neighborhood, leading by example with good sportsmanship, conducting practices according to the practice schedule set forth by the Swim League, attending all practices and all swim meets unless excused by the Swim League Supervisors, and preparing all line-ups for weekly competition.
