Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, Pool Supervisors, and Pool Manager, this position is responsible for preseason set-up of facilities, day-to-day operations and staffing of the pool(s).  Interaction with others includes Assistant Director of Operations, Lifeguards, Coaches, Lesson Team, and Office personnel.

A Manager on Duty candidate must be mature in judgment, friendly, and able to pass a water screening which tests swimming ability.  You should also know that the Columbia Association will arrange for your lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid training if you are hired. The Manager on Duty has a legal duty to protect the safety of people in an assigned area.  The Manager on Duty has a professional obligation to prevent potential accidents by enforcing the rules and regulations of an aquatic setting and to react to any emergencies that occur. The Manager on Duty is also responsible for assisting in the running of In-Service training, acting as the Manager while the Pool Manager and Assistant Pool Manager are away. 

Licenses, Certificates, etc:  

  • Must have an active Pool Operators card

  • Must have an active Ellis and Associates Pool Lifeguard License

  • Must complete Columbia Association Aquatics Manager on Duty Class
