Position Description

Vista Defense Technologies, LLC is Hiring Public Assistance Document and Training Development Specialist’s to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) recovery initiatives in Zone 2 across the Midwest. The First Level will include professional and non-professional personnel to provide support to state, tribal, territorial local governments, and some private non-profits. Vista Defense Technologies, LLC strives to provide support quickly and efficiently to FEMA’s mission by providing assistance to those effected by man-made and natural disasters. FEMA clearance and training will be provided to skilled individuals who have not previously supported FEMA deployments. The Document and Training Development Specialist’s are responsible for providing technical recommendations, technical editing, graphic development and formatting of PA program guidance documents.

Expertise needed in the following Disciplines:

  • General Planner
  • Technical Writer
  • Graphic Artists

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • This level requires an undergraduate degree and 2 years of relevant professional experience or 5 years of relevant experience
  • Clearance: Must have the ability to obtain and maintain FEMA Public Trust.
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Must maintain FEMA specific trainings
  • Due to the nature of the work you must have strong Microsoft Office Skills, excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have ability to deploy to any location in zone 2 with a 24-48 hour notice after Task Order Award.
    1. Zone 2 includes Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
  • Must be comfortable and experienced using a Smart Phone
  • Must be able to work independently, in a team environment and under stressful conditions with tight deadlines.

Desired Qualifications:

  • FEMA PA experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the FEMA Public Assistance Program/Policy
  • Experience with providing training aids, instructor guides, student manuals and web-based training for PA course instruction.
  • Active FEMA badge
  • Willing to deploy for 6 months – 12 months
