POSITION PURPOSE:

A Sales Intern is responsible for gaining experience and knowledge of the organization through a 12-week project based internship.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Observe and collaborate with experienced Sales Representatives and Sales Managers to learn the selling process, methods and standards required for completion of the assigned project

2. Assist in various stages of the sales process, including creating awareness of new offerings, generating leads, developing customer relationships and growing existing customer accounts as it relates to the assigned project

3. Maintain detailed account profiles and complete all required paperwork, including call reports, expense and territory summaries and projections in an accurate and timely manner as it relates to the assigned project

4. Analyze company reports related to sales, gross profit, etc. as it relates to the assigned project

5. Build awareness of new products, services, competitor activities, market data and trends as it relates to the assigned project

6. Partner with various Team Members as needed for completion of the assigned project

7. Prepare and deliver a professional presentation to the Executive Leadership Team upon completion of the 12 week internship

8. Performs other related duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Knowledge & Competencies:

• Excellent Customer Service and multi-tasking skills

• Outstanding communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word

 

Previous Experience/Education:

• High school degree or equivalent

• Must be enrolled in an accredited four year college / university

• Must be Junior level standing or above

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing, walking, lifting, twisting and bending on a frequent basis

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

• Local travel may be required
