Bloodworks has an exciting opening for a Clinical Research Nurse.  In this position, you will manage clinical and normal donor research projects, including screening and consenting. You will also perform leukapheresis collections as needed and ensure adherence to Bloodworks policies, ASFA guidelines and AABB standards.

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the development of unit SOPs and procedures surrounding leukapheresis in support of research for Bloodworks customers.

  • Provide oversight for clinical research trials involving donors and patients.

  • Perform as a liaison between Bloodworks, BioTech, Pharma and other healthcare customers.

  • Coordinates day-to-day study related procedures including flow of documents and information between Patient Services staff and customer. Handle all scheduling and pre-screening of the normal donor program participants.

  • Coordinate with study sponsor for validated shippers, supplies, and any other items.

  • Assist with preparation of study site for sponsor audits, regulatory audits and any other type of site visit requested by study sponsor or regulatory agency.

  • Collaborate with research team members and other Bloodworks research staff to manage internal processes.

  • Maintain current Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval and adhere to IRB guidelines.

  • Provide education to colleagues regarding study results and ongoing research procedures and policies.

  • Perform leukapheresis collections as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

     

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing school; B.S.N. preferred.

  • Current R.N. license from the State of Washington.

  • Minimum of 2 years recent clinical experience in nursing.

  • Minimum 2 years prior experience managing clinical research projects. Experience with transfusion administraton and blood banking experience is preferred.

  • Experience with regulatory paperwork and the Institutional Review Boards involved with research of human subjects strongly recommended.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Job conditions to be expected include regional travel and extended hours. Unit is a 24/7 operation.
