JOB SUMMARY:

Manages and supervises the daily distribution and coordination of newspaper delivery routes
and monitors independent carrier functions. Develops and executes subscription
sales programs. Ensures newspapers reach subscribers on schedule and performs
related newspaper sales activities. Addresses and resolves subscriber
complaints effectively by performing the following duties personally or through
subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:·
Works with Circulation Circulation Director and Sales Manager on the development and execution of subscription sales programs.

Establishes distribution and assigns district manager sales territories; implements
programs set for meeting circulation quotas and goals. Advises independent
contractors and district managers of sales techniques.Analyzes sales statistics to assist district managers in promoting sales programs.

Reviews carrier contracts and ensures security bonds are sufficient and released upon
termination of carrier agreements. Oversees carrier and crew sales programs
including follow through with district managers. Ensures both departmental and
company service goals are met.

Provides coverage and delivers newspaper shortages, complaints, and handles down routes
in the absence of district managers. Resolves customer complaints with district
managers involving nondeliveries, damaged newspapers, and billing problems.

Ensures adherence to scheduled deadlines with district managers involving daily
newspaper deliveries; verifies subscription starts and stops, and meets and/or
exceeds sales volume, orders, service, and efficient payment collection goals.

·
Responsible for achieving departmental goals while increasing circulation sales volume.
Ensures programs are effective, accurate and followed through to completion in
an efficient manner. Ensures circulation funds are accounted for and accurately
deposited.

Carries out managerial, supervisory and leadership responsibilities in accordance with
the organization's policies and procedures, specific circulation procedures and
applicable laws and regulations.



On-site, regular and reliable attendance is required


Safely drive to and from various locations



MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


1. Assists in special projects as needed.


2.All other duties as assigned.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


1.    Ability to follow all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to attendance   standards.


2.     Must have valid drivers license, insurance and reliable vehicle.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of four years
experience working as a district sales manager and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Two years specific circulation and newspaper experience including
industry trends, marketing media and selling products constitutes a significant
resource in providing advice to management.
Knowledge of the demographic market and within the industry and growth
potential is necessary.Previous
managerial/supervisory and sales experience involving customer service
required. Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel required to
effectively communicate and perform the administrative functions. Knowledge of
general office procedures and basic accounting principles involving budget
expenditures. The employee would require a minimum of three to six months to
become familiar with company and departmental procedures.
